I haven't posted on here for too long but I thought I would post some pics of a recent spoon that I have made.
Its made from Cherry and its the last in a batch from the same wood. The decoration on the handle is a design that I have been working on and its chip carved and kolrosed with coffee.

The spoon is carved using an axe and straight knife and spoon knife from tangentially split wood.
The final finish is achieved using the knife rather than sandpaper and then oiled using flax seed oil.

This is really inspiring, just finished my third spoon ever, saw this and thought "damn....... that's awesome!", wrestled with envy and then found inspiration! Thanks.

Cor! That's a beauty! I'd love to know how to do this kolrosing thing; without wishing to hijack the thread, does anyone know of a useful and usable set of guidelines about how to do it? Please p.m. me any info.! Many thanks.
