Having finally got all my firewood cut and stacked ready for the winter, I decided to spned yesterday (sunday) in the kitchen getting some goodies on the go for the winter.
First thing was to walk the dog, taking the opportunity to pick some of the lovely plump rose hips from the hedge as I went. Then out to the garden to pick some of my chillies, followed by a quick raid on my father-in-laws tomato plants.
After what seemed like all day I've ended up with 2 1/2 litres of rose hip syrup (truly scrummy dribbled on ice cream!) and 5 jars of tomato, chilli & ginger chutney, with all but the ginger home grown or sourced. A good way to spend a day I think.

Anyone else been busy in this way?

Dave
