Thanks, I will do, tried for ages to get one of the bee flying towards me, and didnt manage it, but I havent given up yet!

It is a nightmare. I've been trying to catch a dragonfly in flight for about four years with no luck and just empty frames. I did get half of a damselfly once though.

You've done much better than me. I've never managed to get a whole one in the frame. There was someone on here that was taking a picture of their knife on the ground and a dragonfly flew into frame as he took the picture. He didn't know till he got back home and saw it. The perfect picture of a flying dragonfly, perfectly captured centre of frame quite by accident. I'll see if I can find it.

Really lovely pix Sherwood, thanks for sharing them. Alison's got her nose buried in the TV watching the tennis right now but I'll drag her to the PC sometime and show her your pix.

I don't think she's captured any dragonflies in flight, not even a damselfly. Did get a bee runningout of a flower covered in pollen and it looks as though he's just robbed a bank and making a getaway.

Thanks for sharing, inspiring stuff.

If youre scared of spiders look away :yikes:

It was very interesting watching how the web was created :35:

And i'll sneek this pic in, not an insect, and certainly not close up....far from it, taken with my telephoto lens , tripod mounted, and using remote shutter release cable.
I can find out exposure and aperture settings if anyones interested in giving it a go..
