Well I have to agree the technique could be better though I also think it highlights the shortcomings of the Small Forest Axe. The mid length handle is neither good for one handed us for carving nor good for two handed use for chopping. If he was using an axe with a full length handle the swing would aim down into the ground in the case of a miss, and he wouldn't have to be bent double.

I much prefer my scandi forest axe over the sfa. I was tought that handle length should be from your palm to your armpit. Also the weight difference between the two is next to nothing.
