How many BCUK members does it take to change a lightbulb?

Four. One to cut straight lengths of ash to make the uprights and rungs of a ladder. One to make nettle cordage to bind the uprights and rungs together. One to climb the ladder and replace the bulb. One to consult a Ray Mears book to make sure they're doing it properly. :D :ban: .

Very good
I wondered initially if there would be a "Who needs lightbulbs when there is fire by friction" ....... except that not all of us are competent in the techniques.

well in the aviation industry, it's called a filament. not a lamp.
and you should be using a candle anyway :D

In acordance with BS7671 wiring Regs 16th edition part 2 Definitions, the correct term is Luminaire :nana:

1. Prepare a digging stick.
2. Dig some clay out of the ground (you need to be in an area where there is suitable clay not too far below the ground surface).
3. Puddle your clay.
4. Fashion a small oil lamp from the clay and leave it to dry.
5. Prepare some sort of liquid fat or oil to be used as fuel.
6. Prepare a wick.
7. Fire your clay lamp, and leave it to cool.
8. Set the with in the lamp, fill the lamp with fuel, allow the wick to become fully soaked.
9. Light the wick.
10. Take tongue out of cheek.

Since it's BCUK, shouldn't it be "How many distinguished forum posters does it takes to make a light bulb?"
