Horses hoof?

Hi,
Was wondering if anybody could confirm if this is horses hoof or not?

Picked it up while out wandering, saw lots of Birch with patches of bark removed which wasn't brilliant, especially as there was a fallen one untouched (well until I found it(!)

Shame about the vandalised birches, there are some right muppets out there practicing our hobby!

Aye, I was having a good nosey at them and it was a miserable sight. Some had been taken from the back of the tree so it wasn't instantly noticeable, but most had just been cut from the front and to add insult to injury they had attempted to carve something in one as well.
