A long time ago I made a Silnylon tarp which was ok but now long since passed on. I found some of the fabric & have passed that on too but couldn’t remember what thread I used to sew the loops in & make the reinforcements.
Does anyone have a favourite that’s reasonably easy to obtain?
Thanks in advance. Simon

I use this for my hammocks and worked for me on everything up to 60D fabric.

Another vote for Gutermann Tera, but I like the 80, which is a little thinner. I started out using the Sew All available from sewing shops, and still do for quite a lot of things, since it comes in more colours, I tried Mara 70 (sold by Ripstopbytheroll) but found it too thick for a No70 needle and I like using 70s for waterproof fabrics. The Tera80 is the best for running smoothly through my machine, works with the thinner needle and is strong.

Tera80 isn't all that easy to find. The SewAll can be got almost anywhere and is probably good enough.

Tera 80 (grey on left), SewAll (black centre), Mara 70 (yellow right)
