I like to have a wool or fleece sock cap handy when backpacking. It's good to have a hat you can sleep in. Keeps you a LOT warmer. Mine is blaze oarnge so it does double duty as bright coloration in case I get lost or if I'm hiking during hunting season, I'm less likely to end up as prey. :-D

For most of my outdoor activities during the fall, winter, and spring, I wear a Kromer.

your hat is almost identical to mine,made in australia by a firm called buckaroo. Sounds like the hunting season over the pond is a dodgy time to be in the woods.only the arch bishop of canterbury is holy enough to get a firearm cirtificate in this country :lol:
