With all the recent mild and wet weather. I was itching to get away, so with the forecast set for snow it was time move.
The chosen spot was about 3 miles into the trees past the Black loch in the Galloway forest. I never saw a soul which is great and will definitely use that spot again...anyhow. Heres some pics of setup and scenery.

I have been looking at the wood burners and wondered if it was worth while for carrying for a few miles instead of open fires. Looks like it's a no go for that :)

Nice looking trip.we have a helsport varanger and stove.what night time temperatures were you getting?
We're coming up in may.

Did you tab in with cot stove and tent? hats off to you thats some load. I spent 8 very wet days in that forrest, eventually dried my boots out with hexy.
