i,m going on a trip to alaska for a month stay :D:D in a remote part -wild camping :campfire::D:D

what food would you take in for the duration ??? ** no refridgeration **and
50lb weight limit !!
looking for idea,s please ???:D:D

You're going to be pushing it to pack in a months supplies plus all your kit into just 50lb.

Whatever you do end up taking add a fishing rod and kit so you can bulk out your food with fresh food.

i may have read it wrong !! You are allowed two pieces of checked baggage !! would you read this as a total baggage allowance of 50lbs or per bag ??? either way its only $50 excess

buying most of the food in anchorage then flying to mcgrath from there the last leg -cessna has a 800 lb total limit

just looking for food ideas cheers

How about a big bag of rice, some dehyrated veg and some dried soya. Take some choice spices, sugar, tea, suet, flour etc and you've got the basics.

cured meats (salami, chorizo, smoked bacon)
jerky
powdered jerky ;)
pemmican
nuts!!!!
little packets of butter (should keep a while, especially if you're there in winter, and fats are important for keeping warm)
dried fruits (mangos are good, as are the standard raisins etc.)
flour (can make some out there from Cat-tail plants if you find any)
oats
rice

loads of flavourings!! (morale)

fishing line and bait (and an auger or ice chisel if you're going in winter)
snare wire

can't think of much else right now; enjoy the trip :D

Have you checked the local regulations about imported foods?
Here you'll find some useful tips about what you cannot take with you in the US.
Maybe a small fishing rod will be useful..
