Flint?

I'd like to try my hand at flint knapping and making myself a flint knife. I've had a look around where I live (Scottish Borders) and can't find any, where is the best place to look.

Or is there someplace that supplies choice pieces of flint, or even flint blade blanks

Theres tonnes around here (South Downs in Hampshire). Huge nodules up to 18" across.

I'd happily let you have some but I fear postage would be prohibitive!

If you use a couirer, you can send up to 25kg, for about £13 ish....

Thats probably why people lived down there for so long before they eventually dared the frozen north.
