Would like to have a dabble into flint knapping. Would those 2 things be good start or are there better kits for similar cost? The £110 kit looks nice but a bit expensive for a first dabble.

Don't pay for it! Stone age man didn't, all you need are stones, a few bits of scrap to make some of the finer working tools and, if you can find some, an antler would be a great addition but you can do without. You can then make all the tools you require to knap, all you need then is the information of how to do it, and understanding of how it works and plenty of time.
