Dear Forum fellow,
Happy Easter! And let me ask about GPS since I've found no answer in the forum. I'm quite well accustomed with map and land navigation, but now I'm planning to buy a GPS to next hikes, especially urban ones in roder to get coordinates of specific waypoints. I documented a little bit and my choice is upon Etrex 10 or Etrex 20. I know one is cartographic and the other is not, but I'm looking for a tool that allows me to do these things:

- Mark a point in order to go back there
- follow a pre charged route
- Get indications to reach a pre charged point (inserting coordinates)
- get trace of my route during a hike

I'd like to ask if you suggest one model over the other and if you have websites to suggest with hiking maps or free maps

thanks to all of you

I’ve had a variant on the etrex 10 and it’s limited. The etrex 20 will take charts but they can be expensive. I recently bought a secondhand etrex venture and for a basic unit with maps it does the job.
