JISCmail is a service for academic mailing lists and while many of them might not be
widely known by the public most of the lists are open to anyone with an email address.
In fact, many of them have searchable archives so it's not essential to join.
The JISCmail service hosts lists covering pretty much every conceivable academic
discipline and there are quite a few that would be of interest to many people here.
