My wife and I are off to northwest Scotland for a holiday, and will probably spend most of it camping. We're not entirely sure where we're going yet, but possibly around the Lochinver region - but we're flexible.
Does anyone know of any decent campsites in that area? We've been finding names of places from the UKCampsite website and others, but they don't really give a great feel for the place. So any first hand experiences will be much appreciated. We need somewhere where we can pitch a tent and a tarp, and ideally it should be as sheltered from the wind as possible.
We'll be camping rather than bushcrafting (we could cope with the latter for a weekend, but not for two weeks!) so creature comforts are a bonus. If they allow campfires then even better!
Many thanks,
Mark
