bracken as cordage?

Hi All
I was watching a bushcraft dvd last night at work to keep myself awake and the presenter used the stem of a bracken plant to produce some cordage to hold some spagnum(spelling?) moss on his arm to make a basic wound dressing,
I was wondering has anyone used braken to produce some more substantial cordage?
if so how did you go about it the same as making nettle cordage?
it just tickled my curiosity and i would be intrigued to hear about peoples experiences or theories.
Cheers
Sam

Can be done by soaking in water and breaking down or peeling the outer skin as you would with rosebay willowherb, it's not strong, rots quickly and better things in season to use, ie, Junctus/Soft rush, nettles, etc
