I kept finding the leather wrap i used to cover the blade of my crook knife kept coming undone, Sooooooooo I decided to make a nice little sheath that may stay on a little better, I need to improve my awl lining upatude skills, but I am happy with how this turned out,
Planned out on a cereal box,
cut out a dyed, the dye is applied by wetting the leather with cod water, then using the application to apply an even thin coat of the dye(fibelings) the leave to dry in ambient temps(no added heat) the wetting means the dye is sucked in to the leather evenly,
Welt glued in,
A bit of decoration,
All mounted and trimmed, ready for marking,
Marked up ready to make the holes using an awl,
OOOOOF! never holed three layers before, Lou1661 has since given the simple but sensible tip of marking the top layer, then using it as the template for the lower layers, I also have to replace Lou1661s awl
ITS ALIIIIIIVE! the strap is held with a Sam brown stud,
A little bit of polish later aaaaaaaand!
Note my wobbly line on the back
Anywhooooooo, I hope you find some of this useful,
Have fun and give it a go!
