Books. apps for ipad2

Having been given a surprise ipad2 for my birthday, i was at a loss as to what to do with it and how best to use it.

I come up with the idea that it would be brilliant as a reference guide for plants, mushrooms etc when out and about.
Can you recommend any books that I could down load for this purpose. Ideally they would have photo's rather than drawings.

Or any other apps that would be usefull.

I know that you can get the SAS survival guide on Iphone. I don't have an Ipad but it might work on them as well?

There is an SAS app specific for iPad....a little more content than the iPhone version.

I think the I-Pad can use any i-phone apps (apologies if I have this wrong, I have an i-phone 4 but no i-pad). I love Birds of Britain (the feathered type), Trees of Britain, star3map and (as stated above) SAS Survival (although I only have the free 'Lite' version). You can't go wrong with reference material...
