A friend of mine texted me just now to see if I knew what type of Chopper / Parang was being used in this episode. they were in China with what looked like a Very long straight wooden handle, I've never seen 1 of these tools either.
So any help welcome

THAI LAAR
The tool he saw was a Shorter Bladed tool with a 2 piece wooden riveted handle.

Yeah the more common 1's seem to be 1/4 to 1/2 Tang, but there are full tang versions which obviously cost alot more, They seem to be predominately used for light work where in the UK we're more likely to have a trusty billhook.
