How big/old is it? Have you tapped this one before this season? Is it is in a dry locations?

Might be a bit late now ...

I thoguht because it was just into bud break it would be pumping away, The grouund was swampy but there where other trees around and alot of drainage channel to so i think dryness of the soil may have been a problem is that has an affect.

I have not tapped this tree before. (But i did manage to tap my own finger in trying to tap the blighter with my new opinel, ho ho  )

The specimen was average in health i reckon. studying horticulture at moment so know a healthy one I hope :-D

When the sap rises, getting a gallons worth per tree per day isnt unreasonable. However this flow comes to an abrupt end after 2-3 weeks so it is likely that Adi007 is right and your just too late. :nana:
