Beating - a lovely day out

Hi All, just a quick note to say that I had a lovely day out today beating at the first shoot of the season (partridges and pheasants). We had sunshine and a little rain, some wind and plenty of mud, but it was great to be out and taking part again. I easily exceeded my 10k steps for exercise, got fed and watered, and even got paid . After the tidy up back at the farm I even got a bonus brace of pheasants - the first this year. They’re still in feather, but are now cooling nicely in the downstairs fridge, awaiting my attentions in the next couple of days. Result!
