Have obtained a quantity of bamboo, about 2.5 to 3.5cm across.

Some is just short bits but others is long enough for a staff or walking stick.

My initial plan was to cut it up to make wooden containers but has anyone any other suggestions?

I am making a knife stand, one upstand from Scandinavian mountain Birch and the other one from bamboo. Base in local Seagrape wood.
A nod to living in the Caribbean, being from Scandinavia and using it for Japanese knives!

I have always wanted to make a bamboo bike frame..

but have found the cost of buying resin for carbon fibre prohibitive...

I used to have a smaller civy version of a airborne A frame bergan that had a bamboo rather than steel frame, the sort of thing they were making emediately post war to use existing processes to make saleable good, like Enfield making wooden planes rather than rifle stocks.

Anyroad it was so neatly done that a friend coveted it to the point of obsession so I let him have it. Never seen another dead like it.
