My buddies wife called to see me today with a spadeful of poo :D

She asked me what it was and whether deer.....she said there was an open hole that had appeared in their orchard with more in....but what she had found was on the grass.

The latrine was pretty conclusive

But I have never seen badger scat packet with wheat ears before

Not sure if its gleaning from the combine or Brock had trampled down some wheat and eaten the ears - I have seen them do this with oats, but not wheat before....anyone any experience of this?

Don't really get wheat round here, but there is a site I know where I've seen them in a barley field.

Can I put this in the "Badger track & sign" thread please?

These two images are up on the tracks and sign thread.

Not very clear in the second image but the wheat or barley is in the scat, must just be a seasonal thing.

Badger track in wheatfield leading to latrine..
.

Scat composed largely of undigested wheat or barley.

Thanks guys, sure stick the images where you like Bushwacker

I was amazed at the amount of wheat in that last set of scat....I wonder if it just gleanings hoovered up after the combines have harvested?
