I'm intrigued by what appears to be a polished stainless steel gas canister, the one with lindal valve, no brand or obvious markings that I can see.

Ref: Photo showing the frying with pot grabber on it.

It's just an Optimus 100gm Butane/Isobutane/Propane £4.50, with the green paint sanded off,
which I re-fill from the Coleman 440gm 70% Butane 30% Propane £3.80

Neat little gizmo - not seen one of those before - where did you get it?
The small canisters are very useful but relatively expensive so would be great to be able to fill from a larger one!!

and with out asking they put 'stove part $9 on the customs form came through no problem in about 2 weeks
it's also handy for collecting all the bits of gas in nearly empty large canisters into one full one
the pressure valve is handy as when the canisters equalize pressure no more liquid gas flows but a quick press vents the bottom canister
and it starts to flow again. When you've filled you can weigh the canister and vent any over fill gas (outside)

Nice report. You certainly have an interesting approach to your day trips with teddy and the meals are never dull.

Thanks QDanT,

I did suspect a refilling system going on there, and it is an option that holds interest for me, you have explained and illustrated it perfectly.

Thanks for taking the time to post this up, looks like a good day out.

It's worth mentioning that the Name jews ear is getting used less and less (irrelevant of intention or historic common use) in favour of the less offensive Jelly ear, wood ear etc.

I recall mentioning this in a different thread and had my ear bit off for failing to acknowledge it is the correct name as such is derived from the Latin.

I'm sure you'll do better as the Site Owner!
