Hi guys,

After having used mine Australian hootchie for a few years, I'm looking for something slightly bigger. Currently I'm looking for a lightweight (up to 800grams) 2,5x2,5 tarp, with ridge lines loops and loops on the sides. Preferred colors are green or brown.

I have tried to contact Kathmandu, which has those tarps in there catalogue, but i haven't received any replies. The one on bisonbushcraft looks very nice too, but they only except credit cards. I can only pay with money transfer or with paypal.

Any tips where i can find one of those tarp, a a place which will accept paypal/money transfer?

i made one over the xmas about those dimensions. i got about 6 meters of green lightweight nylon, http://www.fabrics-n-stuff.co.uk/pr...id=74&osCsid=66c349683f1ac895cc3e8973aa82cc72
cut it in half, and sewed it together side by side.
i made tie loops from camo polyester

it took ages to make (i dont have a sewing machine, and had to put some serious work into the seams and edging), used up four full spools of thread. but it was bomb-proof, and massive. stood up to storm force winds ok. it might be an idea for a little project if you are interested.

Someone asked about Kathmandu a few days ago .

This was a thread a while back

As I posted on the last thread asking about them.

Are they still trading ????????
Uh... i don;t know. There website is still up, but they don't reply to emails anymore.

And thanks irishlostboy, for the suggestion. But I'm no good with sewing. And 100% waterproof is a must for me. Parachute material will simply leak.

I have been looking at the Tatonka, but that one is a bit on the heavy side and a bit to big. Might be a good option if i can't find a 2,5x2,5mtr one.

Did you had a looksy at Survival School mate? They do a green 2.5x2.5 tarp. Just send them an e-mail where you ask if it's possible to do a Paypal payment for such a tarp to NL - because you don't have a credit card (normally Jonny Crockett replies) - he's a nice friendly guy and I'm pretty sure he'll sort you out.
