If it is a springer and you cant find a box big enough then just remove the stock screws and send the action removed from the stock. If it is a PCP then de-gas the cylinder apart from a tiny amount of pressure and if it is a CO2 then just remove the CO2 bulbs.

Just be aware that some carriage companies list air rifles as prohibited items from their carriage and as such may not cover a claim for damage if you send with them. It's always worth reading their small print to ensure that both you and the person receiving your rifle is covered in case of in-transit damage

I don't think Parcelforce will take it if you tell them it is an air rifle - they class it as a weapon. At least that's what I concluded the last time I read their T&Cs. Other couriers will, 'though.

Hi

The rules have all changed very recently with Special delivery being rigidly kept to a max length of 610mm (rules out most rifles even when stock & action are seperated!)..

Parcelforce WILL now deliver guns by a minimum of their 48 hour service (thankfully!!)..

I think standard parcels is now defunct..

Cheers, John :)
