3bears Custom Carry System - Neck

in response to one of the threads here about people worrying about strangling themselves on a neck lanyard made of 550 I've used the last of my paracord to come up with a solution ....

Presenting the the 3bears 'Custom Carry System'

as this is only a prototype I've had to use two different colours cord, and whatever buckles I could find...

used a Nexus Whistle buckle for the main clip....

and a Nexus contoured buckle for the back 'break away' as weak link- these are MilSpec I'm told, but there's no way I can see it supporting body weight, but it's tough enough to hold anything I'd want to have around my neck without giving

and a couple of the bit's I've decided I'm going to use it to carry...

Looking good, only comment would be the buckle at the back of the neck it rubs so its not a great idea.

Other than that, its a might fine thing

a bugger of a shot to take....

as the buckle is contoured, it rides well at the nape of my neck

I've also deliberately left some play on the buckles themselves to try and keep it as comfy as possible- I'm going to wear it for a week at work ( mp3 player lol) and see how it goes- design tweaks can always be made

Although I still think I'd put the breakaway down one side rather than at the back
I can imagine hairs getting caught and pulling. Also It might make it easier to put on if you can see the clip? (I know you could spin it round too if you wanted)
Defintaely much safer than striaght para though - good job

If you are looking for some of those buckles, try dog collars, the cheap nylon ones.
