Impromptu Overnighter on the Coast (Coldingham) PIC HEAVY

After a bit of an hiatus from the BCUK forum I thought I would post some pics from a very enjoyable overnighter on Saturday past with AndybySea and Stooboy. Having recently move to East Lothian, Stooboy gave me a call on Friday to say he was heading down the next day and if we could swing it we...

    Highlander "billy" cooking pot..

Im sure that's the same one I've been using for the last few years. Its been a great servant. I removed the metal handle and replaced it with steel wire and inside it lives my honeystove, Ti mug and the inside bit of an old smartcafe mug for proper coffee/tea. Good long lasting bit of kit.

Leave your razor at home lads!

Proper safety razor and blades, and soap etc is going to be a payday present to me this month. I'm sick of these extortionate multi blade things. Sent using tcp/IP.

    Which Backpack Have You Got?

I have a vulcan for taking loads but if I'm honest my favourite is a gelert 65ltr thing that a mate sold me. It's really comfy and well made. It surprised me as I was being snobby about the brand but it really is a great cheap bag. Mine is a bit older but this seems to be the current one...

Can someone in words of one syllable explain Ebooks to me?

I prefer books but I really rate the kindle for travelling and commuting. Struggling to hold a hardback on the bus is not fun and I reckon more people on my bus use them than use books. The one thing I really hate about ebooks though is that you can't have a nosey and see what other people are...

Is there such a thing as a hook for tree huggers?

I know what you mean but you can do the same just using paracord or some rope (any cordage really). Take a loop of cord and thread it around the tree and then one end through the other, then take the loose end and thread through the backpack top handle and stick a finger thick twig/small branch...

    Car Insurance Payouts.

Missus recently bumped our motor and despite the car driving fine (the the point the Police told her to drive it home from Aberdeen to Kirriemuir - 50ish miles) the insurers wrote it off as not economical to repair. Which of course meant no courtesy car. They offered about £800 less for it than...
