    Your best trip or expedition

Alright everyone! Looking for some ideas for some things to do this summer as a sidenote to this post, but mostly I just thought it would be cool to hear about the best outdoorsy expedition, trip, holiday, excursion, course, tour or jaunt you've all ever been on. Who wants to go first? :)

    If you were me..

Hi all, I was reading the 'bushcraft instructor' thread recently and read a quite inspiring post from Dougster about taking advantage of being 19 and throwing on a backpack and heading out into the world. As a 19 year old myself I really appreciated such advice, and it got me thinking...

    Oxford?

Hi everyone, I'm about to start uni at Oxford in a couple of weeks and was wondering if there's anyone there, maybe even at the uni or at Brookes who would fancy getting out and doing some bushcraft occasionally! Of course, I say this before I've gauged how busy I'll be (!) but still...

    Last minute trip to Scotland

Hi everyone, A friend and I have decided, before starting uni, we're going to take a last minute trip up to Scotland, and I was wondering if you guys could help us pick somewhere to go! We're going to leave on Friday and go for a few days, possibly longer - however long we want! Ideally...

Some good walking spots in Scotland?

Hi all, I haven't posted on here for a while, but I'd love some help! I have my whole summer stretched in front of me with very little to do before university (except for some mildly traumatic orthodontic procedures :p), and I was thinking of getting up to Scotland to do some...

One month (or longer) Sweden trip

Hi everyone. I'm taking a gap year at the end of this year (thank goodness!) and I'm thinking, since I'm going to have a free month or so around late August/September, I could go to Sweden, especially since I've now found a friend who might be interested in doing it with me :) I'm thinking we...

    Zoomed out?

I did something really weird by accident - I pressed some key and now it's like the entire site is zoomed out really far so the text etc is really small - oops! Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm on Mozilla Firefox..

    Loch awe questions

Hi guys, A couple of my friends and I are thinking about taking a wild camping trip up to Scotland this summer - and I was wondering some things!! After some research I'm thinking of either Loch Etive or Loch Awe, as they seem quite accessible but not really busy. But some questions: - How...

Sorry everyone - a which camera thread!

Hi everyone, Basically my parents wanted to get me a camera for Christmas, but they thought they'd let me decide which to get, for which I'm very grateful  Basically I want a compact camera, since I want to be taking this on my gap year (I'll keep it safe :p) - the majority of photos...

    WANTED: bushcraft books!

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if posting 'wanted's in this forum conforms to the rules - I couldn't find any mention of it in the sticky thread of classifieds rules - hopefully it is, if not feel free to delete etc! Basically I'm looking for bushcraft books to buy.. Mors Kochanski's book is top of...

    Extended bushcrafting trip?

Hi guys, I wasn't sure where to put this, but I'm starting my gap year next year and I was wondering if any of you know of any companies that do extended bushcrafting courses or trips, or anything like that. I'd go exploring without a company but I have no bushcrafting buds of my age to do it...

Hi guys, Selling a standard OG goretex army bivi bag in good condition - fully usable etc. Put it up for sale a while ago but in the end I couldn't sell it due to my post office closing down! Now that I'm back at school I have access to a different one, so it's back up. I'd like £20 plus...

    Inflatable or closed-cell?

I can't decide whether to dish out for a thermarest or not. On the one hand, I like the fact that the closed-cell foam ones are mega light and you don't really have to worry about them getting wet and stuff like that. I have no problem using them on the floor either - I find them perfectly...

    Wanted: folding saw

I need some sort of folding saw - no preference of brand, and I'll pay full retail price for it. I've tried to find out if you have to be 18 to buy one and can't find it anywhere - if you do then cancel this thread because I'm only 17! :p

    Hobo stoving

Hi everyone, I really like the idea of hobo stoves and I'd like to try and make one (after exams of course ) but I have a few questions: Firstly, what sort of tin do you use for the main stovey bit? I gather you can pick them up in supermarkets but what are they supposed to be used...

    Nanok -10

Hi all, Looking to swap my Nanok Endurance -10 for either an Alpkit or a 3/4 season Snugpak bag. Never been used, stored out of its compression sack, it just doesn't have labels anymore, although it still has the little repair kit that comes with it. Do PM me if interested. Allie
