    My First Fire!

Nice one Matt, thanks for sharing. Just last weekend, my kids learnt how to make a featherstick good enough to take from a firesteel. They've also taken to collecting fluffy seed-heads while we're walking the dogs. The look on their faces shows just why its worth persevering. Great fun all round. :)

Heads Up - Bushcrafty books in Matalans!

Never even thought about Matalan for books until my mate was showing off a bird book that came complete with birdsong CD for a couple of quid. Bargain. Yep, missed out, as usual. Will.

Hiya Lightfoot, Difficult for me to plan any trips out this year, my little jaunts will always be at short notice. But next year, I'm hoping I get chance to meet up with some of you fellas. Won't be bringing the missus though, I promise. :)

    Cheap Smock from Endicotts

There's a world of difference between wind-resistant and wind-proof, but I think I'll keep an eye on this thread in case someone happens to buy one and review it. Any volunteers? :) Will.

    WTB a Zippo.

    WTB a Zippo.

Sorry to hear you've lost 'em mate, thought about buying new rather than second-hand? You can get some as cheap as 15 quid, in a nice bushcraft-friendly colour too. Afraid I like mine too much to part with. Happy shopping. :)

First Post Very First Knife Lots of Pics

Ye gods, if that's your first, I'm not bothering making any more. Puts my meagre efforts to shame, very well done mate. Of course, I hate you, naturally. :) Will

    Choosing a "survival" knife

One more vote for opinels from me. As you're a student on a budget, you'll appreciate spending a fiver rather than forty quid. I've got plenty of knives, some quite expensive, still wouldn't give up opinels. Happy shopping. :)

    St. Georges Day

Is Jude the patron saint for lost causes? I dunno. Anyway, I hope you all had a good English Saint's day, we always enjoy our Welsh ones. Vive le Difference! :) Will.

    Next Delamere.

That's a shame, but if there's something else in the area then I may yet get to meet some of you guys in person. I'd be on my best behaviour, honest. :)
