    Removing a clipper handle?

Found some resources you might find helpful. This first thread Depicts my second attempt at a Mora rehandling project. http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40662&p=531486&highlight=#post531486 This is a thread depicting x-rays of mora handles to give you an idea of what the tangs...

    Removing a clipper handle?

I have removed the handles on several of the old Moras, and the clipper is essentially the same. I just used a hack saw, and sawed through it at the mid point. Then position the knife vertically and saw towards the blade. The blade is a b*gger to rehandle, but it can be done, and can give...

    TANGO DSK survival blade

Great looking survival knives, and a fantastic idea. What sort of size are we talking? Are you going to put them up for sale? How many will you make in total?

    General Bushcraft Knife

JonathanD is absolutely right. The scandi grind can chip quite easily when dressing out large game. But if, like me, the largest animal you're likely to be dealing with is a rabbit or wood pigeon I would go with O1 Scandi grind. They're simple, easy to sharpen, hold terrific edges and are really...

    2nd Frost's Mora Modification

Sounds great FGYT. Would love to see pics. I have a few ideas I might have to run past people before I get started on my next birch ply handle. I've just got a job lot of moras through the mail, and I'm itching to pull em apart. JH

Thanks for posting. Great tip about the antler! I'll have to give it a try. Thanks again. JH

    2nd Frost's Mora Modification

they're stunning. I especially like the antler. I was thinking of working with it myself, but have no experience and am just learning how to use wood! You've sold me on the hidden tang though, I will definitely give it a go. I have 4 Moras on their way, do you think the stubby tang will be held...

    2nd Frost's Mora Modification

I've tried that but I always end up chaveling the opening so that the tang doesn't sit nice and cleanly in the rebate. Would you then put a ferule on? Is it worth grinding the tang slightly narrower so that the join is hidden? Would love to see a example of your work. I might be wrong but I've...

    Mystery....fungus...egg....stu ff??

Why would it have us banned? Any more so than having a debate on flat grind vs Convex? or Stainless vs Carbon? These are ideas, opinions, why should we hide them or keep them private? I have read much on the subject of evolution since I was a boy, but have yet to find anything which...

    Mystery....fungus...egg....stu ff??

This is just one of many reasons why I'll never believe that life evolved! Talk about science fiction. This is beautiful.

    2nd Frost's Mora Modification

I loved the birch ply because of it's silvery whiteness; the only problem I've found is that because the grain is so open the metal filings from the faux tang and the brass bolts clogged the grain and made it look dirty. That's why I had to use walnut oil, as it made the dirtyness look...

    What Knife?

I'm addicted to knives so usually to go into the woods with more steel than can healthily be carried (tend to go through the "what if I get involved in a plane crash between my house and work and NEED a jungle machete" thought process). But I agree that Frost's Mora is the best value-for-money...

    2nd Frost's Mora Modification

Thanks for the positive feedback. I suppose it is a lot of work compared to doing a traditional scandi construction, but having never done one I wouldn't know how to compare them. The reasons behind the whole faux tang idea were several: 1. I don't own a pillar drill, so trying to drill a...

    2nd Frost's Mora Modification

This is my second frost's Mora mod. Another faux full tang (mild Steel). Handle is birch ply finished with walnut wax. It's one of my favourites so far, except that I gashed a huge dent in the blade with a hacksaw! not best pleased about that. Oh well I made it as a user for myself, so I suppose...

    Frost's Mora Modification

I made the handle pretty narrow as my brother has small hands (just like all the men in my family). It's worth doing. The Mora is a great blade, just needs a handle that does it justice. Go for it, and when you do let me know how it turns out.

    Frost's Mora Modification

Hi all, here are a few pictures of a new knife I've been working on as a gift for my younger brother. It's a modification of a Frost's Mora (classic bushcraft staple) in walnut with brass bar bolts and mild steel faux tang (epoxied to the real tang). I'm not 100% happy with it, but it's been a...
