Ventile for me,a wicking tshirt,wool shirt(swandri) and a single layer ventile smock is the most comfortable and practicle wear in the woods and hills I have found.I also find it dries pretty quick,if kept on,others have stated it takes ages.The snowsled classic smock,with a bit of help,folds...

I found a alpine ferrule at a game fair that has a rubber stopper/cover that works great on rock and the like,when in woods or soft ground whip the cover off and away ya go,I'm sure they could be found on the stick making sites and it's hazel for me. cheers

lol,not quite,walked from the camp site at Lyn Gwynant,with a mate,2 jack russel terriers and a hangover,oh and 18 stone of beer and steak from the nite before :) .It was a great day out,sleet ,snow,sweat,rain,mist,all the good things a mountain has to offer.
