    Hello! (again)

Hi Folks. Just thought I'd drop by and say hello as I've not been on here for ages as I've been busy doing bushcrafty and forest schooly type stuff including setting up my own company (but I can't tell you about that as it says so in the forum rules). If you happen to remember me; long time...

    Has Anyone found "THE" Knife?

I've enjoyed reading through this thread, looking at the various options on the market, etc. Personally I use my Mora all the time and I've just splashed out on one of these http://www.casstrom.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=120. It has failings, but I love the...

Standard Frosts of Mora Clipper model. There is a good reason all bushcraft schools issue them for students to learn with. :)

Are two sleeping bags better than one?

Well I've dug out my old 2 season bag tonight with a view to using it inside the larger 3 season bag (and a bivi bag) this weekend when they are forecasting that it will be down to minus 10 on Saturday. I've been in the 2 season bag in minus 17 before now and frankly it was unpleasant, so...

Are two sleeping bags better than one?

Hi folks, Time for a general discussion thread. And the question is; When it's going to be really cold, are two sleeping bags better than one (ie one inside the other as per the US sleeping system)? Chris

    Alternative to craghopper kiwi trousers?

Unless you are sold on wearing CH's I can highly recommend Dickies 'Eisenhower' trousers. Around £15-£25, plenty of pockets and absolutely bomb proof. I've (deliberately) crashed through 3-4 feet tall brambles and not had a single scratch thanks to the heavy canvas-like weave. (No links, etc...

What qualifications do you need to become a qualified bushcraft instructor in the UK?

Hi John, I'll send you a PM if that's ok? Chris

Wanted, trivet for 15inch frying pan.

What John said! I've got three of them (different sizes) and they are fab. TBH a 5" hinge is best. Tip; get 3 pair of hinges, not two. The reason will become obvious after making the first one :) Chris

    Forest Schools ?

I think the main thing with the training course is that, as discussed on another thread, upon completion you will have a regulated qualification which confirms a certain level of training and ability in lesson delivery. Naturally this needs to be judged against the training & abilities that you...

    Forest Schools ?

Having looked around the costs for L3 training varies anywhere between £500 & £1000. As for returns on investment; it's up to you and what your business plan says that you can reasonably get out of it. Sorry I can't be much more help... Saying that, the IOL Forest School SIG are having a...
