    Knife laws of Sweden?

Keep the knives in your pack when not in the woods, if traveling by car put the pack in the trunk and all should be okey. Blade lenght isn't anything that matters but if the knife is seen as a tool in the situation or not. Spring assisted, butterfly knives and gravity knives is a problem as...

Hultafors Heavy Duty Knife GK or OK1/OK4?

For the steel I have and uses HVK with Carbon and stainless blades and apart from some patina the carbon blade doesn't disingrate in rust. The patina came when I stod a whole Day and sold Cristmas trees and allthing, including my clotths, was wet. For sharpering I use a Diamond "stone" so I...

Possibly 30 year old primus micron stove just failed, what to replace with?

Primus Trail Essential It doesn't pack as small but no legs that flap around or get bent. Cheap -ish Can stand pretty hard winds. Have a wide burnerhead so one can cook and not only boil water. I compare It to an Optimus Crux (the folding type,) that I fund was flimsey and not up to more that...

    LARGE COMFORTABLE BACKPACK RECOMMENDATIONS

For the cruaders there is also 15 l sidepockets and some more alternativet to expand the size. If one swapes the lid to a lightweigt one without pockets and skips the sidepockets one saves nearly a kilo in weight and it's still a very large backpack.

    Waterproofing a SAS Smock?

I think they have changed it somewhat as I have used it for great effect on both 100% cotton and 50/50 but in modern times I don't get the same effekt. My solution is nike-wax in the washer and some spray used in combination. Often only spraying parts that is more exposed to rain as hood...

    Old Hatchet... What to do?

Next time just put some linseed oil on the head after giving it an edge. It gives rust protection and s grey/black finish. Then use it to keep new rust away and a light oil for the whole ax/hatches ones a year.

    Trangia

It's trangia 25-3 or 25-4 that have a nonstick pan and the rest in alu. Difference is that the -3 dosn't have a kettle (no odd nummer does). 25-5 and 25-6 have pan and pots in non-stick. Some say that HA pans is better as even if they in the beginning isn't as good "non-stick" over time they...

    Expedition Blades

I don't like the garberg blade and the only way I have broken mora clipper/companions is using them as trowing knives. For the money that a garberg cost there is a lot more fun knives to have. If liking a sturdy user with skandinavien lines a hultafors ok4 is a good choice for a lot less money.

    Kukri for Bushcraft use ?

I have axes as well but if I just feel the need to take some stakes for fun or on a longer trip a chopper is a valid choice. As I also just can cut som indention and break most trees in that size I real dosen.t need either tools. For most outdoor uses I can manage with my Victorinox classic but...

    Snugpak 100L Bergen

I have a berghaus crusader with molle/pals and I can't find any real need for smaler pockets*. Get or make some sidepockets with smaler pockets if you realy find a need. Extra sidepockets for a snuggpack is pretty cheap in UK. *I have an admin pocket for pens and some garbage bags but the main...

    Kukri for Bushcraft use ?

They are a bit svampen with orders because a lot of people in on active duty, the reserve and in TA in a bunch of countries ordering stuff quit suddenly. A lot of stuff also go directly to Ukraine. My guess is they solve the problem somehow when more important stuff cool down as UK is a big...

Hultafors mini hatchet - any good?

If you get a pink sheat and scales most will look on the knife as cute. How people sees things isn't allways logic.

    CHILD'S FIRST KNIFE

Victorinox Hiker or farmer. They works for whittling, its the stabby, making holes and probing parts that a non locking knive is bad at. If multitools are legal thats something that is a pretty good option. A mora-sized fixed blade. (I know that that mora-size isn't that precise but it gives...

    Tainted tea

and in larger amounts they taste awfull. I will never, NEVER, again try to open the knot on the plastic bag around the trangia burner with my teeth. Burner and fuel is best kept away from cookware and food.
