How I built my house for £4,000

Currently i live in a street that has a single row of houses (about 10) and is surrounded by woodland, it's in the middle of nowhere and very peaceful but the hovels are typical red brick stacks that stick out like sore thumbs from the surrounding environment. Most people in the street treat...

    Walkers fire lighters

hello, not bushcrafty in anyway but worth a mention, crisps (usa=chips) come in handy if you have no other form of fire starters, soaked in veg oil they light instantly and burn for up to a minute (kind of puts me off eating them). RIP Polly the Buff-faced Pygmy-parrot :sadwavey:

    Living out for a year?

Just out of interest how big a van do you intend to buy? if you cant afford to buy a good strong tent or whatever then converting the van can always be an option, especially if you get a 3 season lavvu etc, you could install your woodburner in your van and sleep in it when the worst of the...

    Into the wild movie

Just finished watching it. I think most people here would feel some sort of connection to it. Its not a bushcraft or survival film it's about the spirit of life and self discovery. A lot of respect due to chris mccandless for what he did regardless of his family issues. If the film is on in your...

    Living Roofs

Here's Tony Wrench's fantastic living roof in Pembrokeshire, unbelievably, the Pembrokeshire County Council and Pembrokeshire Coast National Park consider it to have a "negative impact on biodiversity and the environment" and "an unsightly and incongruous appearance" and want it destroyed...
