All way over the top imo. A perfect egg sandwich for me takes only the time it takes to butter bread and fry egg.(soft yolk)
Egg onto bread, then liberally coat with white pepper and Heinz ketchup and voila! Dent the sarnie slightly to break the yolk and
wow! Know what i'm having for breakfast...
Was lucky enough at a summer boot sale last year to notice 3 packs of Japanese fishmongers gloves on a stall. Each pack consisted of one stainless fine chainmail outer glove and one inner Kevlar glove. Got them all for a fiver-pinch, pinch!
I'm no clumsier than the next man (lol) and save for...
Hi D.
You need to have or make a steel, 45 degree register plate. Google will show you what they look like but basically; they are two separate
halves of an elliptical shaped plate. When put against each other and slid in or out you will see the shape they can achieve to accommodate your

I totally agree. What you need is a properly built weatherproof log store with a breathable waterproof sheet over the wood too. Seasoning times for woods vary according to their hardness and some woods you can even burn 'green.' Google is your friend and will supply you with all the info you...
Leaving the top of a container open with fuel in it will only make it smoulder and not achieve a proper burn as it does with the lid closed. I wouldn't use a box made of any sort of plastic or metal either for obvious reasons. The best containers of all are plain unpainted non inked cardboard...
Hi all. An update for you on my piece about using wood shavings and sawdust in small boxes to add to fuel stove. I keep my left over ex-cooking oils after sieving in an old 10 gallon plastic container and yesterday I carried out a small experiment. I mixed half a pint of oil with around one and...
Hi Woody and any other interested members. I burn logs in a largeish 10.5kw multifuel stove in the winter. I have a woodwork shop where I collect lots and lots of sawdusts from different woods. I burn my sawdust in the log burner but I do it by filling small plain cardboard boxes (no bigger than...
You could google Clynfyw Farm near Boncath in Carmarthenshire. Give the manager a ring and ask for a contact number for Mr John Fenna. He lives local to there and is a bushcrafter who, amongst other things, runs a camp on the farm. The land has a Victorian mansion and extensive grounds-I don't...
Tengu, I trust you know about the dangers of galvanised coatings- If heated giving off extremely toxic as in carcinogenic fumes? It may help if you are able to tell us what the component in question is. In any case at all, I would in no way be heating the piece to either remove, replace or add...
Hi-Its a company called Welsh Dragon Fuels and stoves. They are in Ammanford, South wales-quite a way from you. It is brilliant stuff though and very reasonably priced. The last lot I bought was £46 for 4 x 20kg bags. That was in june last year. Their phone number is 01269 842620 for the shop...
Lost my last reply due to site ineptitude somehow. Never mind- i'm a learning smith too - gone for coke and not looking back. Is great stuff-no fumes no smoke!
Just a thought- like you would steam a curved or bent stick to make a straighter walking stick; could you not steam a 'seasoned' spoon or other wood item you wish to carve thereby making the wood easy to remove/shape etc and so make it easier on your hands?
