Nail on head. Traps & Snares all day long. Pissing about with maintenance of Firearms. Over-rated in my opinion.
Another option to consider would be Lead loaded Catapults. With a well developed skill set they are reliable. ( though my Catapult skill set needs plenty of working on )
Cheers. Just checked out this Canoe of yours. Seems a reasonable price... got me thinking. Could be a good entry level transportable Canoe I could venture forth with and have a paddling adventure, 'tis not some thing I've done much of... mostly I'm Trekking around Lakes, Lochs & Rivers.
Aye, this was our second trip, back to the same House too. Reckon we'll be going back next year also, Early Spring again. The place is a right fine fairy wonderland.
Hallo. Have spent the last week among the Cumbrian Mountains. This one particular day, while the rest of the crew went to climb Sca-fell Pike, I went off on me tod for walk around the local wooded Crags and Fell-sides keen on finding my self some Hoof Fungus ( Fomes Fomentarius - for those that...
I'll say this again... This is Agenda 21. The ultimate goal is prevention. Ultimately No-one will be going to the country side. It will all be closed off... and they'll use platforms of coercion to achieve it in the form of the propaganda of Climate Change, Health & Safety, Environmentalism to...
How would they Police it.... with Cameras & Drones, and yes, with Checkpoints or such like. This is only just the beginning of a technological clamp-down. It wouldn't be too much trouble for them to facilitate containment... they have the desire & will to do so, they have unlimited funds of Fiat...
Cos this is Bushcraft... crafting from the Bush for your needs. Not Camping. I assume you are aware of this, since you are a member on a Bushcraft Forum. :)
Go with a Tarptent, or a Mountain Laurel Tarp-tent, or perhaps a Luxe Outdoor Tarp-tent. Far more space inside, less faffing about when erecting the contraption. And less weight to carry.
Definitely going to put hairs on yer chest..! I do like Black Pudding... and am partial to my Auntie's home-made Jam. 'Spose there's no harm in taking a nibble.. wouldn't be taken aback either if I found I liked the devilish combo.
Instead of growing Potatoes... utilise Oca in it's place. An astounding little Veg, hard as nails, doesn't suffer Blight... Treat 'em like Potatoes when sowing and harvesting.
I'm going to give a massive shout-out to Courgettes, & patty pan Squash. For reliable, productive, easy to maintain.... just let 'em do their being and they give of rakes of crop. You want to get heirloom seeds though, mate... don't get Hybrids or terminator seeds. Then you can harvest your own...
As people've said... for a first fixed blade Knife, and for many many outdoor folk experienced with knife use....Mora.
They're astonishingly good for the price. I used a Mora Companion for a few years.
