when tightening it leave the ridgline tight but more like a half tightened guyline - so when you get into the hammock it becomes fully tight - a tight guyline - aka strummable.
yeah think about the UQ as if it were a down jacket --- you would only add it on top of other layers - base layer top (your sleeping kit) midlayer fleece (a mat it this case) and then your down jacket

im using my snugpak sleeping bag and have a DIY UQ - my reasoning for not going TQ yet is should i need to go to ground i can do so.... without too much hassle. in a few more years who knows im sure ill be TQ'd up.
dont confine yourself to haging the basha in its basha formation - aka roof pitched along the hammock - instead switch it to a diagonal one where two of the coners touch the ground - with this you will (i hope) be fully able to cover your hammock.
