    Telegraph Article about gathering.

Thought I'd post a link that I came across in last weeks Sunday Telegraph. The article was by Claire Cohen about hunter gathering, in a very basic sense. But featured Nick Weston who's name I've seen mentioned on here a few times. Thought his website might be of interest...

Sorry another pesky 'I want a job in .....' thread but hopefully slightly different!

Hello all I've pondered posting this because I know how dull these types of posts can become but honestly opinions are needed, no matter what they are! As briefly as possible here is the thing, whilst trying hard not to make this in to a CV. I've worked for a corporate law firm for 15 years...

    An old member saying hello!

I appreciate that this is where the newbies normally post their hello's but whilst my stat's say I've been a member for a long while things never pan out quite how you'd planned or hoped and so I've also been gone for a long while. (Just realised that sounds Like I've been in Prison or...

Hep B vaccination for first aiders etc, should we bother?

Hello all Just a quick question(s) for all those medical professionals, CFR's, first aiders, wilderness medics etc. Do you think you should have the Hep B vaccination, does the organisation you belong to have a policy relating to it and if so what is it? The reason for asking is that I...

    Correspondence details for Lofty Wiseman

My wife has decided that she would like to drop a line of good natured feedback to Lofty Wiseman re a few things she has recently read of his. I was wondering if anyone knew of the best address to write to, I was thinking via Trueway Survival School but I'm not sure. As this is the first time...

Can anyone recommend a scuba course in the South East?

Hi I'm thinking of doing a scuba course. I'm not looking to get into it in any serious way, but it's one of those things I've always fancied having ago. It's cost prohibitive so I'm just investigating at the mo! I know there are a few divers on here so I just wanted to see if any of you...

    Bio Diesel?

So there is a lot of talk these days about renewable sources of energy and the use of Bio diesel and vegetable oil for running engines, when duty is paid obviously. The renewable energies I understand, but what are bio diesels and are they commercially available? I also seem to remember...

    I would like a Landy!

The electrics went on my car last week and I've been without a motor for over a week which is causing a few issues. My Gran died recently and left me a little bit of money. It's not much this day and age£2000 but with a wife at Uni, two kids etc. It's a huge amount to us and I've been trying...

    British Army Support!

I know there are a number out there who support the British Army so I thought the To the Best website which is a place where you can show your support for our Troops would be of interest. Here is a related BBC News Link for your info Regards Pib

    Royal Navy Blog

I know it's not bushcrafty but I know there are a few guys out there who like the odd good blog. I also know there are a few ex servicemen types who may enoy although I'm not sure whether there are any Navy types kicking about. Anyway I came across the HMS Somerset Blog which is written by...

    Dentists arrgh!!!

I've just tried to book an appointment with my dentist! Now I've had a fear of dentists for as long as I remember and this is aggravated by not having a lot of money to pay for the work that is likely to be needed! I know I'm partly to blame but below is the basis of a conversation I've just...

    Ongoing Shepherds crook project!

I've not been able to finish this project yet, due to time, but I'd thought I'd post a few pictures anyway! I'm making a shepherds crook, it's for show just in case you note the sheep would have to have a seriously thin neck for it to work! The crook is made from 1/2 inch round bar (steel)...

Can anyone recommend any expedition medic courses?

I did an expedition first aid course with Wayne at Forest Knights a little over a year ago, which I really enjoyed. I've done various first aid courses in the past which I've enjoyed, hugely, but I guess I've got a bit of a taste for it. I'm hoping to do a First Responder course with the...

    Now I've got the hump!

Christmas day thought I'd take the hound out for a walk around the country park, before the clan turned up! The country Park is an old brick works pit that has been, over the last 15 years or so, landscaped and the pit has been filled with water. So hardly a sole was around and off we...

    A summer hornet!

I was going through some shots from the summer and came across this one. Some friends had asked me to photograph their wedding, whilst doing a recce of where the reception was I came across this fella. He looks like he is missing a leg if you look closely, but I seem to remember him being...

    Cook Book Fundraiser!

Just a thought! Something our church did a few years ago to raise money for some building work, was they put together a cook book. The recipe's were supplied by members of the church and noted locals, so local headmistress that sort of thing. Anyway just a thought but something BCUK...
