Some data:
Now an overall comparison with the aluminium SA trangia:
- much more robust (it figures)
- the large alumimium pot weighs 300 gr and the little pot 180 gr
- the large steel pot weighs 480 gr and the little pot 300 gr
- the burner and the stand are in both cases 400 gr, the full...
Yeah, well. If I can see the difference by the discoloration of the pack at least one spec is different than the lowe alpine: the ability to retain the original color... Seriously: I've seen the seyntex or ARWY models and they are decent, the Lowe is nevertheless superior.
+1 here too. Look at deer, moose & the like. I've observed that those colours (CB or the tussock from Swazi) blend in the best. They won't disrupt a pattern but in woodland environments they trick the eye as effectively. Wear fur!
OK, but what about leaking, sooth and bad smell? I'm tempted to use a configuration like yours but I'm concerned about the 'sting' of withe spirit out of my cup or pot. Any experiences with that?
Nope, it's a Carinthia Federleicht. It's heavier & rated to -12. Made for the dutch air force. I saw the bag's and they look decent (that vendor has new ones)

This is an alternative: http://begadishop.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=6924 but without the frame..
An old optimus nova with adapter would do fine. The newer ones seem to be of lesser quality. The Primus multifuel has also an adapter and is IMO sold by Trangia directly.

I think they were all private purchase items and as such jealously kept by their owners? and furthermore, all Norwegians have three things: a mother, a hytta and a fjellduken;)
Aspirine is an anticoagulant, paracetamol is not (it will only blow your liver if abused). Threfore paracetamol and NSAID's (like ibuprofen) are better in a survival/combat situation.
The chocolate use is obvious: use it to polish the underside of a beer can so you can use it as a...
