What do you want to Buy?

Warbonnet blackbird XLC double layer, two DD 4x4 tarp and an exped downmat or thermarest. Prefer a pad instead of UQ because they require less care and can go to ground.I was going to start buying next month but with all the chaos going on I'm just going to save the money for now.

    Hammock Tent

Not worth the cash, better off just carrying a DD tarp, hammock and inflatable mat.

Review of the Warbonnet Blackbird XLC Hammock

What a great idea, I might just try that myself. It looks like it's working for you, so you should keep doing it. Sometimes it's easy to get caught up in the newest bushcraft products but a lot of the time basic cheap/free alternatives work just as well. (I learned that the hard way)

    Lowa GTX Mountain Boots

The boots are very good, I paid full price for them at a shop. I never got a blister once. I wore them all the time and had them for about 2 and half years. Unfortunately I didn't look after them well and the leather began to split, I wore them in all conditions and the heels were worn out. I...

    Best bit of Winter kit

My favorite bit of kit was the snugpak sasquatch coat, it was like wearing a sleeping bag. The downside is that it's not waterproof. I say was because I left it back in England at the moment my favorite is a waterproof hood I found, it's even better and warmer than the Lowe alpine mountain hat...

What do you mount in your trangia?

An update: I found it very easy to get alcool à brûler in France. I usually get mine in Franprix or Carrefour. Now I'm in Spain, I looked in Dia and Mercadona for alcohol de quemar, no dice, however Mercadona do sell Alcohol de lempieza, which means alcohol for cleaning so I will be getting...

Nope I didn't get any of those, maybe yours is a newer model. I bought mine in Sports direct around a year ago.

    65L or 80L pack?

LOL made mistake in my post I meant NOT too many times. I can put all my gear inside it with shopping. I do like the way that the extension can be just rolled out. You just have to know how to adjust the pack properly so that it is comfortable.

    65L or 80L pack?

I have to Lowe Alpine cerro terro 65-80 and it is a great pack and very comfortable, I have used it to it's full capacity too many times.

    Versatile kit

Yeah I was have some plastics bags, need them on a day like today. I also forgot to mention vinegar. Vinegar is fantastic, I got stung by a wasp next day my hand swelled up I put vinegar on it and it cleared up. I use it for washing clothes and washing myself as well.

    Versatile kit

Pretty easily, I zipped the bag half way down put half the bag down one leg and the other half down the other. I lost a lot o weight on this 3 month trip so my trousers are baggy now lol. Yeah could wear as a coat but I don't want to stand out when I'm in town.

    Versatile kit

I'm currently in France and after weeks and weeks of hot sunny weather it's been raining and cold all day, like a winters day. I bought no warm clothing really got the keela belay jacket but still felt cold with just my teeshirt underneath. So I came up with the idea of wearing the King size...

    Jerven bag question?

Simple answer Jimbo, but yes you can do that, the jerven bag isn't meant to be a sleeping bag the manufacturers even say so themselves.

    Crusader cup fail

Thanks for the offer but if anything, I probably will use gloves to pick up the cup.

    Crusader cup fail

When I come back from France I will get a new one probably the army issue one, hopefully my heavy nato cover will still fit the army one. I won't be throwing away it away though. I've just used it today to thermo cook some pasta and I didn't need to use the handles.
