    A little forge

A productive weekend spent putting this little forge together using a design from the Essential Craftsman on Youtube. Still a top plate to drill and put on, angle iron cut ends to tidy up and the burner to fit once it arrives from ebay but a very handy design. That soft firebrick at the front...

    Starting young!

Got a brace of Mallard at the weekend, we intended to keep them out of the sight of one and a bit year old, quack quack, duck mad Chloe in case she got bothered by inert ducks that didn't quack. Well best laid plans and all that, she pottered into the kitchen just as we started plucking them...

    Seasons gone mad

Now I know things like blackberrys have been ripening earlier but this really is odd. There is a strawberry planter on our front yard filled with early fruiting strawbery plants, exposed to all upland Derbyshire weather can throw at it. Today, 1st Dec, one plant has 2 large Strawberries on it...

A place to discuss the pics in the gallery?

Hi all, One of the BB things I like and think would be good here is somewhere to discuss pics in the gallery, either a way of posting comments linked straight to the pic or a specific gallery discussion forum. Just trying o improve on a site that is nigh on perfect you understand! Cheers David

    Todays forage

Well, I've just posted a piccie of what I gathered on a couple of short walks today. Enough blackberrys to make a nice crumble for pud tonight even though they are nearly over and my small helpers (9 and 4) probably are more in the field than we got back home. A pound and a bit of really good...

Lowe Alpine 45 Mountain Contour Rucksac

Lowe Alpine 45 Mountain Contour Rucksac. Some signs of use but still 95%+ of it's life left in it. Good comfy sack with the added advantage that the compression straps take the size right down so its still good and stable for just a day trip with just your lunch and waterproof in it...
