Been a while, but I've not left the fold

It's a point chisel. It's used for removing large bits of stone. It's about 8inches long there

Been a while, but I've not left the fold

Been ages since I last posted anything but just a quick one to show you a could of recent aquisitions and a tool I made for a stone carving friend. Just need to give it a beeswax finish and maybe a bit of a leather home.

So, I fell asleep for three months...

Not really, I've been working, init. How is everyone doing? I'm ashamed to say that I haven't even visited the site for quite some time. In the meantime I've had a haircut and a beard trim and renewed my membership just now. Not had any outdoor or anvil time at all. Gah! What have missed...

Finnish Defence Forces Surplus: Canteen, sweaters etc.

Mine arrived a while ago but I've been too busy to let you know. Great kit, though my jumper is currently stretching on the back a chair. Svelt lot, you Finns!

Finnish Defence Forces Surplus: Canteen, sweaters etc.

I managed to sort an international payment out via my internet banking. Though I needed quite a lot of info from Martti (full name, bank address, home address) which he gladly supplied.

Anyone have a source for goose wing feathers?

I'm left handed, so if you find yourself with a wrong-un you can always pass it on to me!

Steve and Chris's Adventures in Metalworld

Cheers Chris that line is nice on the bevel, the one on the other side is RIGHT on the edge and a definite crease, not line. Ne'er mind! (I'm blaming your shonky tack welding :P )

Steve and Chris's Adventures in Metalworld

Here we go, started the bevel a bit on the sander, a bit with the file. It's a bit wide at the moment around 27˚. It's hellish going. Hope I can rescue that atrocious filing at the ricasso.

    Uses for meat fat???

Blacksmiths used Lamb fat traditionally to quench. I've not tried it yet though. I will.
