Trangia Click stand as wood burner

Some time ago yes, http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22041 Used a stainless steel sink strainer, costing less than a pound, in the trangia hole, not ideal but it does work.

    Electrifying a bicycle

I think you'll find that it's a 15mph limit on the electric assist not on the bike. That is the bike can be assisted up to 15mph, though shouldn't be capable of being assisted over 15mph but is legal to be used above that without the assist.

    Beer,Lager,and Ale, oh my...

If you've found a pub that does decent beers/ales don't be afraid to ask the bar staff for advice. Tell them your trying various British ales/beers/ciders, don't want stuff you can drink anywhere the world over and intend to have, say 6 half pints, so what would they recommend. Generally...

Survival situation - what would you do?

Still debating with myself about ordering. A few, not immeditaly obvious things, do spring to mind though. Though if the vodka bottles have nice metal tops, then a top can be made into a small whistle, the sound of which will carry far into a desert night and far more moisture efficient than...

    Herts Newest Allotment Owner!

Congrats on getting it, the waiting list here was over a decade so I've not even bothered putting my name down. I think there's something to do straight away before you miss the oportunity and have to wait another year, get outside and sweep up some leaves and put them in black bin bags...

Article: Quick Cheap Pocket Stove To Make

I used to make something similar by scrapping down a tea light and wrapping it with corrugated cardboard then placing it back in it's casing. Rather smokey and sooty but cheap, really easy to make and good for 20-30 minutes burn time. Used to, as a few years ago I came across a round tin of...

    lets buy some woodland

There have been several previous threads, in the past, with similar ideas/aims, worth looking through. When I stated looking into it I think the big stumbling block was the default only 28 days recreational camping allowed, unless planning permission for change of use is sought. Having...

Swiss Arrow : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCyKrQDFA28 Actual range seems approx 100 yards http://forums.doyouremember.co.uk/threads/1885-Throwing-Arrows/page2? Accuracy at that range I'm sure would be very low, but hey being able to lob a pointy stick or 10, from a distance, into a...

    Homebrew

There are a couple of other options, besides those covered, that may suite, depending on your circumstances. eg I opted for an ibrew setup, for my recent delving into homebrew. The main reason was for the 10 pint at a time tap-a-draft dispensing system, which is just about managable in my...

    Cheap Booze!

Yeah and with only 1 airlock it's limited to only brewing 2lts at a time. If you want to brew in 2lt bottles EZ-Caps seem a better bet to me. Or you could be really cheap and use a ballon whipped over the neck to stop it flying off. Might need emptying a few times, does anyone know how...

    2011 bcuk Arctic Expedition

Me too, though it was an imminent death in the family that had me keeping all spare time free, for matters domestic rather than expeditions abroad.

    Fear of the dark

I'd take a bag of pistachios with you, a little offering to share but also a small indication that you share some interests and could learn from each other, just incase you do run into them.

Laptop suitable for f/t Bushcraft Traveller... any thoughts?

Well there is already a woodgas stove with a built in Thermo Electric Generator but I never did find out what sort of power range it had, not a lot judging from it's size ( will do a search for links later ) Trying to power a turbine from a flue probably isn't going to produce too much power...

    if you were allowed

Indeed even without ripping the bits out the wall straight away I knew someone who did this in a front room and gradually created huge cracks over time. If I was doing it I'd suggest a scafold pole as a "ridgeline" to keep the walls pushed apart

    bsa super star

Depending on what shape it's in... if it's in good shape it's a good rifle and as accurate as most of us can hope to be ;) I like the underlever, breach loading and positioning of the safetly. Feel and balance are far to individual for me to want to comment, that's something you just have...

Brainwave - feel free to expand on it.

Well natural method might prove very time consuming but if you've found a decent pond with relevant weed I'd sugest using a clear plastic, for surface area but still letting through the UV, set up kinda oposite to a solar still, eg one high point in the middle. A slightly more practicle...

    18 with volcano stove

I was just being silly, after your initail post said it was like licking a 9 volt battery then it was a 12 year old malt. Volt and malt rhymed using the accent I had in my head. Sorry for the confusion.
