How do you know your new knife will fit your hand?

Iisakki Jarvenpaa makes/have made more than 100 models. Older models might have small handle but you cant generalise, since those were more for wearing with national suit so to speak traditional and decoratrive. If you have had bad experianse with one of those old puukko's dont judge all of...

    Too Soft?

50 Rockwell is good for swords and such but it is bit too soft for knives. If it's for chopping it might be enough since the blade wont brake so easily. If you sharpen the blade you might want to go even 30-35 degree, this way the rolling of the edge is not so important. Juha

How do you know your new knife will fit your hand?

Go and buy a Finnish Puukko, with that you cant go wrong. :super: Specially if the Puukko is "Tommi puukko". Best maker that I know is Jukka Hankala. There are others that are less expencive... Marttiini makes somewhat mass production puukkos and knives. Iisakki Jarvenpaa makes more...

Striking a match when cold and tired

When cold, I pin the match under my thumb against the box. Then just pull the match quickly. It wont burn your thumb if you are quick enough and the match it lit every time. Mind that your thumb must be dry. Juha

    Teaching a child

I think you have good thing going on there. :-D Kid's should be introdused to knifes with care and respect like other tools too. If one makes them tabu, then they just find an other way to find out about them. Be sure that the knife is sharp, always!!! Make sure that he /she learns how to...
