Gransfors Bruks Small Carving Hatchet (Centre grind) - Price Dropped

A very lovely Gransfors Bruks Small Carving Hatchet (Centre Grind) with GB sheath and a hand-carved handle, bit stamped with KS. This is not one of GB's 'Carving Axes' or 'Swedish Carving Axes', it is the Tiny 'Carving Hatchet'. It is a pleasure to work with but it's too small for my big...

1 x Beautiful and strong Left handed Svante Djarv Large Spoon Carving knife. (The left-handed knife is the top one in the photo, the right handed one is sold) Bought around a year ago but has only been used for around an hour, it's still 'factory' sharp and hasn't had any further...

    Wot, No Ceps?

I've had my second biggest ever haul this season, looks like they were out earlier than last year - up here atleast. (That's the South Lakes) There has been a profusion of Lurid boletes and Blackening Brittle gills this year - 2 species that I've rarely seen in past years...

    Foraging for coffee

Interesting write up, I never knew coffee could be made from Plantain - gonna give that one a go! What are your thoughts on soaking the dandelion root before drying/roasting? I found that I get a much cleaner, less muddy taste and it improves the flavour no end. I usually soak the dandelion...

(Beginner) Ash Bark Basket/Container (Pic Heavy)

I'm impressed with the responses to this thread :) Thanks for the comments, but I'm way of getting these 'down' - the bark takes months to really properly dry, when it's final shape settles. I'm tempted to leave one without a rim, and see if leaving the rim off while the bark dries makes a...

(Beginner) Ash Bark Basket/Container (Pic Heavy)

Thanks Toddy :) The pitch sounds lovely, and very kind, but I should just get out and get finding some! No doubt I'll update here as I polish these off.

(Beginner) Ash Bark Basket/Container (Pic Heavy)

An update for the thread... Today I went for a spruce-root harvest. In 20 minutes I'd pulled up around a dozen 6-7 foot lengths, then spent around an hour and a half stripping the bark in a notched piece of wood. I replaced the paracord intestines with spruce root and finished one of last years...

W/proof sack covers, wool blanket, long thermarest etc...

Pignut: PM'ed Resnikov: Yes, those. How much would you like for them? Postage & Paypal included. Samon: Well, budget wise I might be able to pick one up in a charity shop for £5, or I could find a lightweight one. Not shopped for one before so not sure on the price range. Budget is as little as...
