    Laburnum Puukko (pic heavy)

Good evening. Following the Rosewood Puukko I made I wanted a crack at getting a better fitting ferule. This time I used a Lauri PT95 blade & some Laburnum that was given to me. A little heavier & denser than the Rosewood with a bit more figure. A load of pictures of the making here...

    Rosewood puukko

G'd evening More Rosewood & a Lauri 95 blade. A simple puukko. Whittled out the basic shape & fitted the ferule (witch ended up a little out of whack). Good friction fit along the tang - hammered the handle home with 2ton epoxy. ...and sanded & oiled... ...left the whittled finish on...

    Quick FGYT Whittler

I bought a nice little whittler blade from Duncan at the WG. I also got given a few nice chunks of seaasoned Rosewood. I mixed them together in a pudding basin with some leather, thread, edge black, shellac, neatsfoot oil, some more rosewood, a pinch of gum tradicanth & a dash of 2 Ton...

    Quick FGYT Whittler.

Bought a wee whittler blade off Duncan (FGYT) at the WG. I was given some nice Rosewood so I thought I'd whittle up a handle for the blade. Here it is ready to go, unsanded with a soak in linseed oil... ...next to a Frosts 120 for scale... It's nowt pretty but very simple, drilled a hole...

    Alder Kuksas

I happened upon some green Alder at the weekend & thought I'd give it a go as I've not used it before. Quite soft & easily carved though I'm not sure how it will hold up. Apparently it tends to last well either wet or dry but not a mixture of the two. A very popular wood for clog soles &...

Sheath - Frosts 106 (pic heavy)

Hello again. After a couple of abortive attempts to make a 'proper' scandi style sheath I came up with this for my Frosts 106 whittler. The stitching went a bit awry on the back but the next one should be a bit better I hope. Kind of a practice run for the Leuku I posted earlier too. I...
