The dentist thing could be a red herring.. hole through about the size of a pencil, so the pin Is about 3-4mm?
could it be for punching holes in paper, like a ticket punch?
the end of the spike looks like it has a notch like the pins in a paper punch - is it a tight fit in the hole it goes through?
someone found something similar in "an antique dental desk" :yikes:

I wonder how many stamp collectors spend hundreds of pounds on a penny black with the intention of sticking it on an envelope and putting it in a post box?
And if they don't - do they get ripped to shreds on letter writing forums? :pokenest:
Is it just a badly formatted way of writing the size as length of handle x width of eye (long axis of oval)
So...
Thirty inch by two and a half inch
Thirty six inch by two and three quarter inch
Thirty six inch by three inch
Thirty six inch by three and a half inch
etc. ?

:lmao:

I would be concerned about bird droppings amongst other things :yuck:
The Swedish sizing system is height in cm x weight in Kg, so for someone 190cm (6'2") and weighing 75Kg (about 12 Stone)
EDIT: Though as these are designed to be thrown over your other kit when you stop it will be a bit roomier than the weight suggests ;)
The stopper incorporates a pouring hole so you only have to undo the lid a few turns and pour. It wouldn't work with an external thread.
The coating on both my siggs looks more like a lacquer than anodizing. In the case of the patterned one it looks screen printed then lacquered over the top...
