I went on a Stag do to Footsteps of Discovery back in February, had a fantastic time and would highly recommend them, Leon-1 who is a Mod on here can point you in the right direction.
That wouldn't be the surplus and adventure that appears to be the bane of quite a few people on here? http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=81342
Just to say we had a fantastic time at Footsteps of Discovery over the weekend. Spanner and KP were great hosts and would recommend a visit down there. They have the Cornwall RV in April but I won't be able to make it which is a shame.
Off this weekend to Footsteps of Discovery for mates Stag weekend. Any one been on a similar trip there? I understand that there will be an element of competition involved and am wondering whether I should possibly hold back a bit for things like the fire lighting by friction etc would seem...
Have look at this thread http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=63860 I think there are few other similar threads. I do have a Laksen Buffalo Jacket as couldn't stretch to a Harkila. It's quiet as its 70%cotton\30%nylon mix outer with a breathable liner but not proper Gore tex...
Reminds me of once of watching Watchdog when there was a spate of citroens rolling down hills after the driver had put the handbrake on. Something to do with the brakes cooling and shrinking ever so slightly just enough to allow the car to move. Remember shouting at the telly that they should...

On my journey home from work last night saw a Barn Owl, last time I saw her was back in October. Journey home is now coinciding with the light failing and just the right time again to see her.
Unfortunately it's the way all new cars are going, the Euro 5 (copied by many countries inc. Australia) emissions restrictions mean that the manufacturers have to make the engines more complicated to meet the law. The euro 6 restrictions coming in in 2013 will be the death knell for quite a few...
The engines in the Disco 3's was derived from a joint venture with PSA and Ford, so the engine is also in some top end citreon's and pug's. Ford took it and made changes and put it in the Disco 3 and the s-type, early XF's and the old XJ, it was the one in which JC took from France to Blackpool...
None of the Land Rovers are built in India, I should know I have to walk through the Defender & Range Rover production line every day! The guys that drive them a lot say the Disco is better off road than the Defender and is their choice between the two. The new Disco 4 has a new wiring loom due...
