    Near Leicester? Like carving?

http://www.lopc.co.uk/clubs/lopc_carving_club/ I take my lad to the activities and found out they are starting a carving club. I may give it a go and thought it may tide us over until we can get a e.mids meet sorted out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    10000bc starts tomorrow

I'm not convinced by the trailer, looks a bit big brother-y to me. Still I'll probably watch it anyway for a reason to shout at the tv Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We all love a good project, this is the latest of mine to be finished. A hazel stave of approx 5" diameter x 6' long was drawknifed, spoke shaved and carved; stained and oiled then a multi strand waxed string was a added along with two rabbit fur silencers. Just need some arrows now &#128522...

    Thoughts

What does the collective brain think I should do with this? It has a strange finish to the blade, sort of stainless. It's a wall decoration which I think could be vastly improved, but how/what/why etc... Not sure myself Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Bit of a heads up. 'Surviving the tribe' is running daily at midnight on national geographic channel (I get it through my murdochovision subscription) Not a bad watch, even if it is American Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Help with frame saw

I've just spent 2 days making Paul Sellers' frame saw (he's really good and has an excellent YouTube channel, but I digress), however, when I've started to use it I have found it tracks to the right when sawing. I've ensured that the frame/blade are not twisted, the blade is new, and the blade...

Catch 22 - The shave horse paradox

For months now I've been after a draw knife from the 'boot and on Sunday I was rewarded with a very rusty C.Whitehose & Sons one, although skeptical at first, I managed to get a working edge and so far so good If you have a draw knife, by virtue of logical thinking you have to make shave...

    Getting my son involved

My son has started to take a real interest in all things bushcraft, combine that with an obsession with stampy cat videos on YouTube he decided to make his own video. He started with 'making a fire with a spark' and uploaded the resultant vid here. https://youtu.be/Sa4_UQWoy1k hes looking to...

    Hi from South Leicester

Morning all, been lurking for a while so thought I'd drop in and say hi. Live in stoney stanton and spend a good deal of time out with the dogs in the fields. Have young son who loves the adventure side of things so I'll hope to be visiting often and look forward to sharing advice. Chris (and Tom)
